Caroline Wood is the Associate Director of Research Data Compliance in the Office of Research Administration (ORA) at Harvard Medical School. She leads a team of Research Data Compliance Specialists who support Medical School researchers in navigating this complex landscape to identify, acquire, and manage the critical data resources necessary to achieve their research objectives. With the rapid evolution in the availability of data resources and the development of important collaborative and inter-disciplinary research initiatives involving data science, this group facilitates with researchers the administrative steps needed to ensure work is conducted in a regulated environment following required data security standards and best practices. Caroline has worked in research administration at Harvard Medical School for over 10 years. Prior to joining ORA, Caroline worked in the Dept. of Health Care Policy where she helped develop and execute a compliance program within the department for sensitive research data and participates in working groups developing University-wide research administration systems for managing data. Caroline holds a Master of Library and Information Science from Simmons University and a BA from the University of Chicago.
