Export Controls Guidance: Sanctions & Impacts on University Research

The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (VPR) released detailed guidance. Given the new sanctions and evolving guidance, if you are working on any proposal, award, agreement, shipment, financial transaction, etc., that involves an entity/individual in Russia, Belarus, or Ukraine contact International_Collaborations@hms.harvard.edu to initiate an export control review. This International Collaborations email is managed by ORA's Research Security Team. While these sanctions and restrictions are likely to impact activities with entities and individuals in Russia, Belarus, and the Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions of Ukraine, the University is not discouraging collaborations. Our goal is to help support collaborations to the extent we can within the parameters of the expanded restrictions. Questions?
