In preparation for the upcoming June and July holidays, please refer to the affected research administration-related deadlines:  

• Juneteenth Holiday, Wednesday, June 19th
  The University and ORA (Office of Research Administration) will be closed Wednesday, June 19th, 2024. Please plan accordingly to ensure that any submissions due that day or the days following allow for sufficient time to review, in compliance with the ORA Submission Deadline Policy. 
• Independence Day Holiday and NIH July 5th Deadline 
  HMS has extended the Independence Day holiday so ORA will be closed Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th, 2024. This closure means that submissions for the NIH R01 & U01 renewal/resubmission/revisions - due to NIH on Friday, July 5th - must be submitted to NIH by Wednesday, July 3rd. Incompliance with the ORA Submission Deadline Policy, the 5-day deadline for those submissions will be 5:00 PM, Wednesday, June 26th, 2024. The 2-day deadline for finalized Research Plan documents is Monday, July 1st, 2024. 
• Cost Transfers  
  To ensure we have sufficient time to review and respond, please keep the June and July closures in mind when submitting urgent Cost Transfer or other ORA Research Finance-related requests to the shared mailbox HMS Research Finance.  

Please communicate the internal deadlines to all affected/potential PIs, and your grants management staff. Also enter any anticipated proposals into GMAS as soon as you become aware of them (in draft format). They can be revised prior to the deadline and include the sponsor due date so that ORA can plan for appropriate coverage.
