Federal enforcement agencies, including the FBI and Homeland Security, have identified significant health and safety and IP theft-related threats tied to the transport of biological materials. The University's Office of the Vice Provost for Research and the Office of Environmental Health and Safety issued a memo reminding the research community of the regulatory and University policy requirements applicable to the shipment of hazardous research materials, as well as an updated Research Materials Transport and Shipping Manual.
